Insurance Question

Hello

I'm trying to arrange insurance for the first 3 months after my arrival.

Anyone know of any companies who provide that service. Its been like flogging a dead horse so far.

Thank you

Re: Insurance Question

I need to find this too for BC. Have you tried the private insurance companies in the yellow pages? I'm thinking it's going to cost a fortune but it's just one of those things you can't not have!

Christ!

Have found this link: -

http://www.outbackerinsurance.com/

There was a fault with the website when I tried to book but for 1 adult I was looking at just under £100 for 3 month one way trip.

Please feel free to share any other information, I don't know how good this company is.

Re: Insurance Question

You have to be really carefull that "travel insurance" will in fact cover you in the event of a claim.

Once you are here, covering the three months, travel insurance will see you as a resident, in their view not travelling, and its grounds for them not to pay out, hence the specialist 3 month gap coverage offered by the canadian health insurance companies on the settlement.org list.

http://settlement.org/sys/library_de...doc_id=1003775
from the usefull site
http://settlement.org/site/HE/

Im not sure why the sutherlands links were trunkated, but these work OK at the moment.

We are looking at canadasure.com
They seem to be reasonably priced.

Isn't that settlement.org one just for Ontario?

I will have a look at the canadasure one too.

They are all national companies, and most of the information is applicable across all the provinces.

Re: Insurance Question

canadasure.com will certainly cover you in BC. We used them for insurance while we were waiting for the 3 month waiting period to end. Can't comment on how good they are as we didn't need to make a claim.

Also if you are planning to do any supporting activities during the 3 month period make sure you are covered.

I chose canadasure.com @ £129.84 and they cover the whole country.

Thank you all!
