Default Insurance bundles for Nova Scotia, any recommendations?

Quickly approaching my third year anniversary out here in Halifax and as such my house and auto insurance is up for renewal. They (Johnsons) have just sent me their renewal and it has come in at $32 per month dearer, despite no claims and annoyingly I have the house fully alarmed and didnt get any discount.

Not wanting to be lazy or complacent its time to shop around, in which case I would be grateful for any recommendations people have.

Many thanks.

Hi

Our car insurance quote by Travellers was $1000 more this year than last. We changed our cars to CAA and now paying less than we did last year.

We cannot bundle our house as it is old, but we went through a local mutual company "Kings Mutual". We found them much cheaper than the mainstream companies. They do however insist on sending out an inspector to assess your property, as long as all is ok or you do what the inspector recommends, then they came in about 15% cheaper than our last provider.

I do not know what area they cover, but if not where you are, there should be another mutual insurance company for you. If you have a newer home you may be able to get an even better price with them through bundling?

Good Luck

I always shop around when both come up for renewal and have never been able to get a bundle cheaper than individual products from different companies.
