Info Needed !!
 

Trying to find as much information as possible before we ( Me, Partner & 8 year old Son) start the long process of applying for Canada under the Skilled Migrant catagory. We were planning on moving from the UK to New Zealand but have done alot of searching and found that regardless of us being able to buy a property out right the cost of living / holiday's/Flights out of NZ are high and the wages are really poor so financally it would not work out.
We have tried to find the same info on Canada but there does not seem to be much referring to the cost of living etc. One bonus would be that we could buy a property outright so no mortgage payments to worry about.

Any info would be much appreciated!!

What are you looking for? If you use the search feature, this forum has a few threads on cost of living comparison, with links to useful sites, and even breakdowns of the weekly grocery shopping.

Compared to the UK, wages in Canada are low, but so is the cost of living in most areas, but that shouldn't be what emigration is about anyway. Having said that having a fulfilling job that pays the bills is definitely one of the keys to happy expat living.

Advanced Search for Cost Living (titles only) in the canada lifestyle forum should throw up some usefull stuff...plus lots of bickering :)
