Import of Taxidermy
I am still in the very early stages of thinking about moving to Canada but one of the prominent questions that has popped up is regarding how I'll get my taxidermy into Canada stress free. I appreciate it's a little weird so I am hoping I won't attract any unhelpful comments or answers - please be kind.
I have a modest, private collection of taxidermy which, if I were to seriously up-sticks and move my permanent home, I quite simply couldn't be parted from. So I have been looking into the legalities of importing them with me.
All of the pieces are fully completed/mounted pieces and all but one of them are common species. I have official documentation for the one unusual species which proves I own it and it is a legal item. Might I have to get them all certified/documented?
3 of the pieces would be small enough to fit in my luggage to carry with me, but the rest would need to go in "goods to follow".
Can someone give me the idiots guide on how that works in regards to declaring them? I read somewhere about "family heirlooms"/"antiques" or even "private collections" but I am not sure if they'd fit into that category to be honest. I did read the available law on importing dry skins and trophies but I am still not sure on how I declare it..
Thanks in advance!

Re: Import of Taxidermy
You simply list them on the goods to follow i.e 1 x stuffed chinchilla value $50.
