Imp question about funds - Please Help.

I have a question that will hopefully help not only me but a lot of the people here.

My interview has been scheduled for this Nov and I wanted to know to be on the safe side approxmately how much should you have in your bank balance to show sufficient funds? I know that the amount mentioned is about 12,000 Canadian Dollars but I have heard that you may need upto 40,000$ to satisfy the official that you can sustain yourself in Canada in the event of you not getting a job.

Please help. Thank You.

The final decision does't necessarily only depend on the bank balance. It is sufficient to have C$15000.
There are so many things that you can list out like., last one Year salary earnings(W2 Form) Current status.Letter from your employer Etc., and how well you clarify the Officer's Qtns Etc.,

Re: Imp question about funds - Please Help.

Thanks for a quick reply Raghu. I totally agree with you about all the other questions and I'm not really worried about those questions (atleast for now ) but I got conflicting reviews from people stating that you need a high bank balance and some people saying that u need about 12,000$ so I was worried about that.

So you say 15,000 US$? And also should this be your average balance or can you deposit this temporarily and withdraw it later in a few days or so?

Hopefully people on this forum will have the answer.

Thanks.

Re: Imp question about funds - Please Help.

We (a couple, no children) got a letter from our bank stating the current
balance of our account (not average balance) and submitted it to the officer
at the interview. We had about CDN$16,000 and the officer said that it is
more than enough to meet the required criteria for funds.

Don't worry.
