Immigration under skilled category
I and my husband r planing to apply for canadian green card under independent category. On calculating the points according to the new grid i score more than my husband.
I have worked as a system analyst but have not been working since the past one year. Will this have an effect on the processing if I apply as the principal applicant?

Experience is counted if it is the past ten years. In your case you can count your
expereince even though it is not in the past year.

An assessment on both spouses is essential because it is up to the applicant to
decide who the applicant will be and what the occupation will be. The officer does
not have any duty to suggest any different.
Experience in the last ten years will count.
