Default Immigration Papers & Bank Accounts

The website www.settlement.org gives the list of identification documents that are valid when opening a Bank Account.
One that is mentioned is "IMM1000" which I believe is also known as the Landing Record.
Could you pleae advise if when arriving by way of a Work Permit we will also be given this form.

No, but the work permit will also be fine for opening an account. Its a similar bit of paper with a different number IIRC.

When you land on a work permit you will be given a nice piece of paper to staple into your passport with details such as the company you work for, job title, file number, expiry date etc. This will be enough to show a bank in Canada to open an account. It certainly was with Scotiabank when my husband went on a work permit.
