Welcome to the forum. Moving to Canada is not just moving to the street down the road. Assuming you have family, a job, a house, friends....... well you have to say farewell to them. The actual move costs a few thousand. Have you been to Canada to visit? Its a fairly large country and the west and east are very different in economy, housing, jobs etc.

So you decide you still want to come (and it is the best decision I made) then check out the canadian goverment websites, read all the information, formulate a plan and get it started.

Most of all, research and obtain information to assist you. Most of everything you need to know is on this forum so just use the search engine at the top.

Good luck

If you mean the articles written by people saying how they have had to pay $xxxx for this that and the other work 15 zillion jobs - there have been threads on here discussing those articles do not represent how the bulk of people are doing in Canada they are isolated incidents.

I would say that most people have found it hard at the very beginning but you only get out of life what you yourself are prepared to put and if you dont take chances when they arise then you dont get the chance !

Certainly worth fully investigating, but also look as to why you are considering a move from the UK. Are you prepared for the long wait for processing, whether WP or SW. What about the family you will leave behind, how close are you to them?

Check out the other posts on this, I cannot speak from experience as I came over as a fiancee (was sponsored by my OH) so the wait was nothing. I have noted that some folks on here are nearly 4 years into their wait.

Good luck with whatever you decide. Canada is a wonderful place. I am proud to be Canadian.

Nope think they are too young. Actually didn't even know about the tournament until I saw your post. Eldest one is only 4 in September. He finished his TimBit soccer games in May, but they only played 3 a side and without a goalie.
