Free ride to the airport, free ticket on airline of our choice, escorted boarding no waiting for your row to be called.
Dependent on the circumstances we will require you to wear Govt issued jewelry (handcuffs, leg shackles) and if you are really lucky an anti spitting mask. You also might get 2 x travel companions to ensure you get home safely or can chat to on the aircraft.

Applications can be made at most CIC offices or contacting your local police station/detatchment where we will come out and pick you up rather than you paying for a taxi or bus fare to get to their location.

We all know that the GTA is considered as the centre of the Universe so its neither East or West.
Awash with illegal immigrants meh there are probably a couple of poor unfortunate souls who forgot to extend their status, thought that the 6 month stay was just a suggestion, slightly miffed that they were not checked by officials when crossing the farmers field at 2am in the morning.

I personally know half a dozen undocumented workers who have been here more than ten years. I've reason to seek out such people and I don't ask everyone I meet what their status is. Given that people in that situation are not likely to shout about it I suppose I actually know more than that. "Awash" seems fair.

(That's not a complaint, btw, I think undocumented workers are an asset to the country, they work steadily, lead quiet lives staying out of trouble and don't burden the healthcare system. Ideal immigrants by and large.)

Yup the powertrip makes it all worth while. I mean what business is it of mine to wonder why certain individuals have made several trips to Jamaica, Columbia, The Netherlands (Amstedam) and most of us struggle to make the 1 or 2 week vacation a year. Of course everybody returning to Canada never lies to the officers, bring in controlled, restricted or prohibited goods,
has no child porn on their computers etc etc.

As a citizen I can go where I want and when I want and for as long as I want. if I choose to make a short and (in your subjective judgment) expensive trip somewhere why should you feel the need to cross-examine me on this?

Maybe if you adopted the mindsight of maybe putting yourself in the BSO's shoes then you might just find it relevant to ask certain questions of the persons occupation. Maybe the porsche driving, rolex, armani suit wearing individuals answer i.e lawyer, doctor type of professional occupation might just sway the BSO not to refer you for further examination. God forbid we thought that the individual might just be some gang banger showing of their status.
Maybe reading the Customs Act or researching the Supreme Court of Canadas rulings in regards to what we can legally do might assist you.
Oh and I apologise for missing out the r in Amstedam obviously Im totally unfit now to do my job. Is the Netherlands ok or should I have referred to it as Holland or that Dutch country.

As for going where you want and for as long as you want and when you want you are absolutely correct but still does not make you immune from both the Customs & Immigration process where required.

As your answer suggests profiling is alive and well in Canada based a range of indefensible criteria. I have no idea what you mean by gangbanger but assume they can still legally travel?

I would contend that many of the questions asked by CBSA are not within what can be asked of a returning citizen.

However, enjoy your work, I am sure you are invaluable in protecting the borders from someone bringing an extra bottle of booze back
