"Info" like that is already in some government publication. Mr B was handed a bundle of leaflets by a newcomers services man behind a cart in the immigration hall at YYZ. I thumbed through some of it and it had helpful hints like "don't beat your women or kids in Canada, you'll get into trouble" etc etc.

Does anyone still have that booklet? I think it was a large A4 (or whatever that size is here) thing. Is it available online? I'd like to have another look now and our copy is long since gone.

That's a bugger, there's nothing like a live "stone your woman to death" event to help pass the time on a weekend. :D

I dont see the fuss...OK, its stating the obvious and pandering to stereotypes, but I think they made the point that if you want to come live in a particular community then expect to conform to the community, not have the community conform to you.

On the other hand its will never hold water legally speaking as some of the stuff is already covered by supreme court rulings anyway (like the right of a Sikh to wear a kirpan)

I've noticed (according to the BBC, at any rate...) that the "Muslims" are apparently the only group that are "outraged" by these "rules".... do they think they are the only people who this applies to? Just another crappy 'diversions and things' type article that the BBC seem to spew out on a regular basis.

Thats never stopped them before where canadian generated content is concerned.

I hadnt heard anything other than what I read here. Why, was it panned? did the ratings suck? I thought it was "alright", ubt theat they will have problems maintaining enough jokes without resorting to stereotypes.
