It's what people say to me when I tell them I'm moving to Ottawa.

Two things I disliked about Ottawa were the cold and the bugs. Never been to SK but I suspect the same applies.

It's only cold in September, October, November, December, January, February, March and April. The rest of the time it's ok.

Hi Alvic, Great to hear you enjoyed Saskatchewan, were moving to Saskatoon on 26th July. Ive never even set foot in the place.

I was in Saskatoon in May and I really liked it. There is so many different places to eat and so much to do. But I found it smaller than Regina and eveything was alot closer together in the town.

I don't think I could live there - but everyones different. It is alittle busy for me. Are you going to live in Saskatoon itself or are you going to live in the surrounding areas?

I am sure you'll love it as the people are so friendly and the south part of town is really pretty. Plus I was never bitten once by mossies - infact none of my family were.

It really was a flying visit - hardly time for the jetlag to hit:huh:

When do you hope to move?

Joanne

Hi Joanne - the worst thing about it was we were only getting used to the seven hour time difference when we came back here. For the past two nights I have been up until after 2am and the jetlag is hitting me worse here. Good excuse for lazing around, not. It rained that hard here yesterday you couldnt even go out the door never mind try to dry a couple of suitcase full of clothes and to top it all off our OFCH had stopped working while we were away so I have a mountain of wet clothes to sort out today.
The joys of immigrating.

Well OH employer is applying for LMO now. The immigration office in Regina said this would take about four weeks although other people on here are now in their 10th week of waiting through the Regina office.
We also have to sell our house before we go so we wil probably be the quickest ever couple to recieve LMO and then not be able to go for months. OH boss needs him asap so hopefully not too long. I would prefer not to move after the fall time anyway.

Hi, Were not sure yet where we want to live. My hubbys job is in Saskatoon but we were thinking of living in a small town called Warman just 10 mins away.

Wow Alvic sounds like you had a great time there and im real glad you like it.
I think it is just the pace of life I need not to slow and stop just what i like.
Chris 12 and I have rented a nice three bed bungalow in Regina beach right next to the lake so will be able to have a few swift ones on our days off and get bitten to hell by mossies at night but not feel a thing due to intoxication LOL.
My Clair is just jumping up and down with excitement that you got a couple of lots for that money, she now wants to build instead so i have to look for land to buy not houses, mind you should be easier than looking at a dozen houses or more.
Anyway glad you loved it their sounds marvellous.

LOAFY...

Hi Loafy - Regina beach was lovely, lots of ants too though. Apparently a few of the smaller towns are selling lots at $1 each so keep your ear to the ground so to speak. TIM-BR Mart have some beautiful designs, we have chosen ours already and building cost start from $140 per sq ft. When you consider that that is painted and all we think that it is quite reasonable unless you want 2000sq ft house which we dont. By the time we would have sunk enough money into restoring an old home - we would be better going the new build route. We found that a lot of the houses weren't bad but most had underlying problems in the basements etc.
Only problem now is that we are back to looking for a rental that takes two crazy dogs and us. Who did you rent out at Regina beach with.
