I love Canada because

I'm in Calgary and the sun is usually shining.

Snow is better than rain.

Our standard of living is higher despite earning less.

Despite having fewer official holidays we have more free time - close of business is 5pm!

Healthcare and dental care are very good (we have never had a bad experience).

All of the above!

I'm in Ontario and the sun is usually shining.

I can afford a house with some land and a nice view here, and neighbours more than 3 feet away.

I live in a community where people look out for each other, and there is no real nasty crime.

I enjoy 4 real seasons, including the crisp clean winter days, not three weeks of summer and 49 weeks of various forms of grey skies.

[QUOTE

I love Canada because;

- after days of rain/wind storms for the past 2 days.....we've had 2 days of beautiful but cool days with actual sunshine.......and beautiful cool nites (3c) - but the stars so bright and close, itit's like you could pick them out of the sky.......unbelieveable...

- I'm still picking spinach from my green house and apples from my tree in the garden......

How lucky can we be........ :D

A few other reasons to love Canada, especially vs the UK or Europe (and partially vs Australia):

- Blue passports
- U.S. system for phone numbers (sensible)
- Region 1 for DVD
- Dollar currency
- Free local phone calls.

All of the above plus:

1 in 3 people in the street aren't text messaging. In fact no-one seems to walk round with their head in a mobile phone.

We can afford spacious detached housing we could only dream of in the UK.

In a pub, you don't have to go to the bar to get a beer, it's brought to you!

There are more Winter activities.

We can eat out without breaking the bank.

Living in a large city doesn't mean you are deprived of sky. There are few high-rises outside the city centre.

There is less litter.

I too love Canada…

Why…

Consistent weather…you can actually predict it and plan accordingly..

The first three months of winter are fun…

Renting a cottage in the summer..

The great lakes…

Skiing in BC is only a 4hour flight away..

Not in Calgary you can't.

They have a saying here:

"Don't like the weather, sure stick around for 10 minutes"

Re: I love Canada because

I absolutely love living here :o) but - I want to add a comment in addition the home ownership comments ...

There is absolutely no way that we can afford a house where we live (sigh) well unless we do win the Super7!

We do have a lovely (old) townhouse (on leased land - gulp! :scared: ) and we are spending way more on a mortgage than we did in the North of England!

Vancouver is not the cheapest place in Canada to live in - but by God it is lovely here. Where we live, 20 minutes to skiing, 20 minutes to the beach, swimming (in the summer) in the local creeks, and 40 minutes to the downtown vibes! BLISS
