I have a migraine !!! Does anyone know where I can get Migraleve ?
Hi,
I have a terrible migraine !!!! Not being in the UK, I cant go to the chemist and buy Migraleve - http://www.migraleve.co.uk/ , my usual brand, over the counter. Does anyone know if it is available in Canada ? If not, is there anything close to it ? My mum brought some over on a recent trip, but I am down to my last few. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks GW |

Migraleve yellow is basically co-codamol. Tylenol 3's I guess would be the closest thing but the codeine content is much higher in T3's (30mg vs 8mg in Migraleve). As for the pink, it's the above plus an antihistamine, and I believe that 'Marzine' is the equivalent in Canada. Hope that helps :)

I am a migraine sufferer and I take the Advil gel capsules here in Canada.
To be honest though, if you have a full blown migraine there's little you can do but wait it out. |

Oh on a related note Paracetamol is called Acetaminophen in Canada.
For a migraine you'd probably want something stronger but this difference confused me at first :P |

Guess what is on my shopping list when my mum comes and visits later this year. Hubby swears by it and tried several equivalent meds here in Canada but he says doesn't work.

Many thanks to everyone who sent a reply.
I will take a list of names to the chemist and see what I can find. Best wishes. GW |

As others have stated, if you are a genuine migraine sufferer, the 'ducks nut' in terms of medication, I have found, is Zomig- spray.....& finally an alternative to Imogran/trex. Of course, you will need a prescription, but if you suffer from migraines, you should at the very least, give Zomig a go. Nothing's perfect, but this is a step up for me on the rest of what's historically been available.

Hi there,
I second Zomig too, as I get migraines real bad and this is the only medication after trying zillions of different ones that works and subsides in 20 minutes as long as you take it the minute you feel a migraine coming on. |
