Default How will immigration to Canada effect UK tax &/or pension?

We are retirees being sponsored by our daughter for immigration. Thinking ahead, my husband is concerned about how our immigration may impact our UK pensions and taxes. Would appreciate any information, tips, advice, etc. Many thanks.

I'm not much help, but Canada has a tax treaty with UK. My husband is also going as a retired person. You must claim all foreign monies on your cdn taxes, but you also claim the foreign tax you paid, if there is difference between them, and there will be...you pay balance to blood sucking cdn government....
Transferring is something we are still investigating...

All I've heard (and don't take my word on this) is that while they will still get their UK pensions, the pension doesn't go up, so they will be on the same rate so long as they stay in Canada. Doesn't apply to all countries.

That is true for the state pension.

You will report your UK pension on a Canadian tax return as part of world income. If it is paid gross in the UK, the full amount of tax due is paid in Canada, if it is paid nett of tax in the UK, you claim for foreign tax paid on your return (submitting proof as well). If your Canadian tax would be higher, you pay the difference.

UK state pension paid to a Canadian resident is not index linked. What is is when you leave the UK, is what it will remain at.

It remains at the same level/amount as when you start to claim it, not when you leave the UK.

Thanks, that was the bit I missed out before the period at the end.
