I like Fall ... Thanksgiving, Halloween, the start of hockey season, the leaves turning, the frosty fresh mornings, no need to mow the lawn for six months ... it's almost my favorite time of year.

Fall is great but I fail to see why they can't use the real name and call it Autumn. It's not really a complicated word. I feel like a 5 year old calling a season after what the leaves do. Next summer will be called 'hot' and winter will be called 'snow' or 'white' etc.

You need to get down the gun club Bob, you can have much more fun than that here with a 357 Magnum :scared: Otherwise there is always Canada day, or May 24, lots of shite burned and blown up round here to celebrate.

I like fall, its my favourite season, so I dont mind it coming prematurely! Its missing 2 whole months of "hot" and the anticipation of 2 extra months of "white" I object too!

As the summer was shite here, doesn't bother me...and as we rent, don't have to sweep the leaves, so come on fall....just bug off tourists :p

And can't have fireworks, not allowed in maine....has to be done by pros :(
But guns...hell ya :)

I like fall too. OK, minus the school bit.. :D I like rainy, cloudy weather. Not a huge fan of snow though. Everything in moderation is cool. Except for rain. I love rain. Lots of rain. :D

I love this time of year, it's definitely my favourite season!! The crisp air the turning leaves , it's lush.

Although it's been really hot recently in Ontario! 29C here in Toronto today.....I think we're having an Indian summer!

Int.

Never noticed much rain in the Canadian Fall to be honest, just nice crisp days. Fewer Bugs, Less Humidity, Beautiful Colours. Cant beat it IMO. Maybe its a relative thing...its nice relative to the UK weather this time of year. Besides, even if it does piss down occasionally, you dont have to shovel rain.

Us grown ups dont have to worry about going back to school. :p

Thanks for making me feel better.  :D

Yes, I must say, the bugs are very annoying. Not to mention the flies. Don't know about where you live, but the flies are just very annoying in the summer here. Today (well, technically yesterday) was pretty hot, and the flies were just having a great day.

I live just down the road from you in the great scheme of things. Thats the problem with the Fall, only the stupid flies are left, the rest have died or gone south. At least the mosquitos are just about done now.

Arent you from the Lebanon or somewhere? I would have thought the flies were worse there from my experience of the Med.

Yeah. Lived there for a long time. Used to be a problem, but not as much anymore. Mosquitoes are a bigger problem there. And the flies aren't just as annoying. The weird thing about flies here is that they don't seem to be able to fly.

Now that's a big advantage when you're hunting them with a fly-paper. :D

Actually, I guess my post should have been different - I absolutely love Fall - lovely sunny crisp days with really clear sunlight. Great for taking photographs.

But I HATE winter. The boody cold and inconvenience of having to take 10 minutes to dress up just to take the garbage out. Slippery sidewalks etc. - oh I can't think about it.

And I call it Fall because that is mostly what its called here. Its just a word after all. I don't know much about the origin of words in North America but I would have thought the word came probably from some part of England originally. I don't think that people came to the New World and then made up a totally different word for something they called "Autumn" in England.

Haha.. well, no.. they're experts at hiding or sticking on the ceiling.. or if they're really hyper, banging themselves from one wall of the room to another.  :scared: lol Do you know, it took me more than 2 hours to kill one fly in my room the other day. :scared:
