How long for permanent resident cards??
 

We validated our PR Visa's during a 2 week recce trip in April, we left our address as with our relatives but we have still not got our permanent resident cards. We are now back in the UK waiting for cards?

ours took about 6/7 weeks, i think you can check the CIC website for how long they are currently taking and if they havent arrived I believe there is a number you can call

We also validated our PR Visas during a trip to Canada in March - our cards only arrived about 3 weeks ago so may be the case that yours will arrive soon.

They seem to have sent them to us right on the cusp of the reccomended waiting time which was stressful to say the least!

I landed in November on a recce trip and gave a friend's address. They still haven't turned up. Good luck!

we landed in august and still havent received ours, we are going back next week, does anyone know who we should contact when we get there to find out what has happened to them, thanks

you've been waiting since 08/2009 for your PR cards???
the process shouldnt take much more than 6 weeks. you need to notify them - if i recall correctly there was a website and number on the papers. i received mine after approx. 3 weeks after filling-in the paper in 11/2009.

Did you get permission to travel papers to go back? If you go on to the immigration website there is a number to call to find out card status. I am going to try them this week.

We landed 26th April and our cards came this week. I called them a week or so ago as I thought that it had been a while and they told me that they have a backlog but if anyone hasn't received them after 8-10 weeks then they should definitely call them in case they have beeen lost in the mail or something.

Great, more waiting once I finally land....

Still, it's not going to stop me going to the US - I'm sure they will be able to confirm my PR status without a card anyways.

Landed June 19th 2008. Got my PR September 24th 2009.

It took so long due to them requesting a plethora of supporting evidence.

Photographs, letters, references, criminal records checks, medicals and proof of just about everything.
