NZ is not that green..it's just marketing....lots of issues with fertilizer run off, farming causing degradation to land, etc...

It was last year so it would be after. I guess many of those who use the bikes lanes do so in the summer months and don't commute too far. Just a guess though.
Friends in our building drive downtown. We're a 15 minute walk away, or much quicker on the Canada Line. Lazy buggers.

Yes. And a hell of a lot more fun than any pissy, litttle Eurobox. Besides, the new Ford Mustang 3.7L V6 is giving around 40mpg highway, so not exactly a gas-guzzler.

I fond a forum a month or so back for Canucks in the UK, because I was interested to see if they moan about the same things that we do.
What made me laugh was the overwhelming "their work culture is so backward" and "recycling is about 10 years behind ours in Canada" statements.
So it would seem that Canadians think they are more eco friendly.

Edit: On another topic, I do find it ironic that this post is following the "What SUV shall I purchase?" post. Pot kettle black?

Quite. My BIL built a replica Cobra and tweaked the engine. As I recall, it's 9-litres and 650 bhp, with a single figure mpg. He makes no excuses. It's a good-looking car, does 0-60 in just over 3 seconds and his teenage daughter likes it when he picks her up from school.

Maybe try this

http://www.canuckabroad.com/forums/c...e-uk-vf10.html
Of course both of these will not be as informative and friendly as this site.
