How did your kids settle in to life in Nova Scotia???
Hi all,
I was wondering, How have your kids settled in to their new life in Nova Scotia?
My son is 12 and my daughter will soon be nine and one of our obvious concerns is how they will settle in another country. I suppose the girls would all have High School Musical in common and the boys they're Xbox's!!
We are not sure where we are heading yet (reccie in Aug/Sept) but we would like to have a bit of land, but not be too far away from neighbours so the kids can mix with the natives outside of school?
Can anyone recommend any good schools that may influence where we head too.
cheers

There is less variation in schools in NS that the UK. You might want to look at the WIKI on schooling where there is a link to some performance data for schools in NS. This is only for high schools and you won't find any data on primary schools or junior high.
I have 2 boys ares 13 and 7 who will be moving out with us in August. I think that you are right about all the boys being into gaming of some sort, there are also load of activities for kids to get involved in. As far as High School Musical is concerned, my boys like it as much as any girl I know (but they would probably hate me for telling you that).

Has anyone else got any more thoughts on this one.
When we come over we'll hopefully look at houses in more rural areas so we can get a larger plot - say 3-4 acres (with trees!!).
Does anyone live in a property with bundles of land AND have kids that need stimulating? We would like our kids to have plenty of oppurunities to mix and socialise with the locals outside of school. We are thinking if we want this we may have to look at houses with smaller plots and in more of a built up area.
Any comments would be appreciated.
cheers
