When I took my rabbit to the vet, in France, he said "oh hello Madame, you've brought lunch"....he collapsed with laughter when I took the Chicken for a cortizone injection...

Seriously, if I wanted to take a rabbit, I'd get a specialist transporter, I used Goldenway,and they were excellent (no, not for the rabbit or chicken, boring cats and dogs I'm afraid).

On a serious note then yes a specialist would be best as they know what they are doing.

I think we had a similar thread a few years ago. I can remember commenting that our vet advised us against bringing our rabbit as he said the whole experience would be too stressful for him. Some friends of ours adopted him. However in the thread I am remembering there were some posters who had brought rabbits across with no problem. I just can't remember if the thread was about rabbits in particular or whether that discussion was the result of a thread drift (which I know is rare on BE).

Thanks for the replys and the rabbit jokes (i wont show the wife) she might have a taken moment and track you all down

it's looking like a pet transporter as im just waiting on air Canada to say yes or no. i have to say i didn't think there would be suck an issue as cats and dogs don't seem to have much issue.
As for cost i think the wife would happy pay what ever it cost to take her with us (apart from the £100,000 for a private plane) lol

Can anyone recommend any pet transporters? other than goldenway above?

Crockpot do a good deal, nice and slow and be nice n tender when you arrive !

We flew from Manchester to Calgary with air transat and we brought a dog , cat and guinea pig we had no problems at all. Oh I nearly forgot we also brought the 3 children ha ha. All pets still going strong two years later.
We used James Cargo they were amazing they picked up the pets from our home in the UK boarded them in Manchester for a little while until we were ready for them to fly

What time scale did you have from your pets being picked up to you picking them up the other end? did you get them as soon as you got off the plane or did you have to wait? also what was the condition of your pets?

We had to go to a separate building to pick them up, and wait for a vet inspection, but we got them (guinea pig and tortoise) the same night we arrived. Guinea pig was hungry, but otherwise unruffled. It is always difficult to tell how the tortoise is feeling.
