Hoping for new life in Toronto
I have been to Toronto several times over the last few years and I have fallen in love with the place.
I have decided that I would like to move there as soon as possible.
I have been in touch with the immigration office and have been told that I need a permanent job offer before I can be considered.
I am currently a financial adviser, also qualified stockbroker and mortgage adviser.
I dont know where to begin when it comes for looking for employment in Toronto, can anybody help?
Thanks

Have you checked out the Wiki link at the top of the page?
I wish you the best of luck, but I think you'd need to be really really good at your job to get a job offer in that field at the moment before becoming resident. There are a lot of people in that area who are currently looking for work.
You may also want to check up on the qualifications you'd need. I think the Canadian Securities Certificate at minimum would be needed in that career area, and possibly others.
Also I could be wrong, but I think due to financial separation over here you can't do a job that involves all three areas at one. But I could be wrong.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
You need to start reading the Wiki (on blue bar at top of page) which will tell you all you need to know.
This is a good article to start with......................http://britishexpats.com/wiki/Quick_...an_Immigration
And this is also essential reading - you'll learn from this that Ontario is the worst province to aim for as there are very few job shortages there, so you might have to consider casting your net wider and think of moving to another area of Canada to stand any chance of getting there. http://britishexpats.com/wiki/Labour_Shortages
And this section will tell you how to go about job hunting in Canada (it's very different from the UK). http://britishexpats.com/wiki/Catego...Hunting-Canada
Hope that helps, good luck.
