hi guys! need some support

I am still trying desperatly to get a job in Toronto. I have an appartment lined up and i have a good amount of money aside for the move.
My mother has lived in Toronto for 16 years and is married but never went for citizenship. I also have a fiance out there and i really cant wait to start a new life.
My fiance has a slight criminal record which means he can't sponsor me. I have two children and i sadly lost my youngest child before christmas. She was severly disabled with complex medical needs. I have excellent references and some good qualifications.
I am finding the whole process a real nightmare. I am very determined though. I really love Canada and i truly believe that the canadians are the nicest people you ever likely to meet.

i did have a breath of fresh air last week when an agency called me to say there may be a job for me. I was so happy. Not heard a thing since. I sent all my documants off to them and i recieved an email saying that they were impressed and hoped to find me work.

PLEASE can anyone suggest anything else i can try?
i have 64 points and i need a job to make the difference up.

thank you for your help

Hi babyblue, I dont really know what to say(and that doesn't happen often:D ).
I cant see that theres much you really can do, check into what your situation would be if you both got married(if thats an option), in the meantime all you can do is try to get a job, whats your field anyway?
The job agencies do tend to be a bit lax anyway, cant you come over for a holiday & see if you can secure something?
I didn't think it mattered if your mother never went for citizenship, have you had any professional advice?
Why dont you try to send Alistair Miller or Jim Humphries here a private message or even if you head a topic for their attention, they're usually good at giving some sort of answer.
Good Luck:D

Thankyou Pammy!
it is nice to know there are some genuine people out there. I could do with friends like you at this moment.

i am coming out in April for three weeks and i hope to sort something out whilst i am there. I was really trying to put the feelers out before i come over. It is a hard slog but i will get there.

I am a carer for the disabled. I have excelent references from social services and health. As i said before, my youngest child was severly disabled with complex needs. I have gained many skills and i also have a counseling certificate. I also went back to school to do an advanced Health and social care course. I just hope i get work.

Thank you so much

take care

:) Hi Babyblue

There are loads of jobs in this field, unless you are lucky though you will really have to start at the bottom, you seem so keen though that I am sure you could talk your way into anything!
Spend your 3 weeks well, if you see something advertised, please just go and see them the same day, do not call, fax or e-mail, one thing I have learnt so far is that the people who pay them a visit seem to get the jobs.
A lot of places do not even advertise-do a 'Find It' and pop in fio a chat with them, I hope everything goes well for you, also try to find out about your mother as I'm not convinced you wont get points for her being there-

I really appreciate your help Pammy. I is great to find totally genuine people. If i get a job and get there soon i will buy you lunch. Thank you for your support. It is difficult when your so far away from the actual job market.
like you said. The only way really is too walk in and show a genuine interest in finding work.

thanks again for all your help
:D
