Thanks! Did it take you 14 month with apega from your application to PEng or to struct eng in training?

I am still not sure where to go, I would prefer Alberta because they have lovely environment there (rocky mount., lakes, parks etc, it looks stunning and it would be smth that I am looking for, just be close to the nature)...

On the other hand plenty of people say that the market has slowed down since the oil prices has dropped. If it was easier to get a job in Ontario then I would go to Ontario. A big minus of Ontario is that their tuition fees for MEng are massive, uToronto is $41,538.96, the cheapest that I found was $18k for a MEng, it is a lot when compared to $10k at the uni of Alberta or uni of Calgary.

What would be your choice?

14 months from application to get P.Eng, including the mandatory 12 months Canadian on the ground experience.
You have a B.Sc and 4 years experience, if your B.Sc is recognised by APEGA as equivalent to a Canadian Degree course you should not need to top it up, if not you you will have to sit the 'fundamentals of engineering' exams to bring yourself up to speed. And 4 years experience is enough to get a P.Eng so long as you have adequate references. I dont know anything about Ontario but if you want scenery BC would be the place, Alberta is a flat grass land with the odd lake, the mountains are great but are 1:30 hr from Calgary 4:00 hr from Edmonton its not a picture postcard place, you move here for the work and the money.

Gents,

One last question, is there anything that could help me to convert from BS and EC to Canadian Standards? Any good books you would recommend? Do they have anything like SE pocket book? ;)

cheers
