I'd say it doesn't matter how nice the couple are that have agreed to rent your house. It's your bloody house and if you're not moving then tough shit to them.

You can be dam sure others wouldn't have the same problem dropping you in it.

So toughen up, hold fire, and if the LMO comes through then advise these nice people that this is the situation - take it or leave it.

+1, but being a nice guy, I'd offer them the place from August 1st and offer to pay for them to have a 2 month holiday in, ooh let's say, Benidorm in the meantime.

If they accept, cut and run like the wind.

Thank you for all your comments. The uncertainty of not knowing whether this second LMO will come thru or not is pushing me towards staying put, and like some of you have said here.....just see if the couple can wait until August cos we will surely know the outcome by then. Thanks again everyone.

I know it's easy for us to say "stay and wait" when we are here and you are itching to start your adventure - but really in the grand scheme of things it isn't a long time, really it isn't.

If the LMO comes through then you have only had to wait a few more weeks (not long by anyone standards) and if for some reason it doesn't (can't see why not given what you have said) then at least a really expensive mistake hasn't happened

You were a newbie once - don't be so patronising. People are looking for guidance. That is the intent of this forum, or so the site rules say.

I disagree that I was patronising and I wasn't speaking directly to the OP. I also disagree that people are always looking for guidance. Sometimes, perhaps not in this case who knows, they are looking for affirmation, pure and simple.

I agree with Tangram on this point - some people only want to hear the good points/ affirmations of their questions . . .hmm Abbotsford anyone?
