Help!! Desperately seeking info!!
hi!
I am American and my fiance is Canadian. We are getting married in September in the States and then will be moving to Canada (he is already there)... is there ANY way we can apply for my PR before the wedding?? if not...approximately how long will the process take after the wedding? Also... if we have to wait... is there anyway I can move up to Canada to be together until the application goes through? I've been searching the net and am getting more and more confused!! any info will be greatly appreciated!! Jacqui |
Check the immigration Canada website
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/sponsor/index.html To save confusion and money for a lawyer get your fiance in canada to call the nearest immigration Canada office and explain your circumstances. From what I have read on the website you can sponser spouses or common law partners within Canada. Doesn't look like you can get a PR card before . But get your fiance to check first!!! best of luck Ray |
