Default Help and advice needed please

Hi all

my husband and I would like to investigate moving to Canada from the UK and have no idea where to begin!

I am a qualified social work manager in an acute hospital. I specialise in elder care, patient flow and adult safeguarding.
My husband is an asbestos analyst.
we have a 7 year old daughter.

I wondered if anyone can offer any advice in regards to recommended locations (we would prefer more rural to city), renting properties and if they can, any advice re: jobs and jobs searches in our fields.

anything that can support us in our research will be very much appreciated.

many thanks in advance

Hello and welcome to BE

The first thing to determine is whether you qualify for a route to Permanent Residency.. using the official CRS calculator, what points do you get? Assume for calculations sake that you have youri IELTS results (and scored the highest) and that you have your education assessed

We have a wonderful wiki with the basics that will be useful to read through. https://britishexpats.com/wiki/Quick...an_Immigration

Be aware that many professions require Provincial certification/ or are regulated, so I would recommend checking whether your professions are - as an example, social workers are regulated in Canada (Provincially).

Hello Samdee,
The advice given by Siouxie is the obvious place to start. As your application moves closer to becoming a reality, you may want to explore Milton, Ontario as a place to move to. I think it will tick many of your boxes (rural, job opportunities, housing affordability, schooling). This is my opinion from the perspective of having lived and worked in Ontario for 40 years. I cannot speak for the other provinces.

Good luck.
