Hello from Newcastle

Hello everyone. Me and hubby have been discussing a move to Canada for some time now. He's in IT with local government and I work as a secretary at the local Uni.

Our plans are put in skilled worker's application and wait 5 years+ (were going to use Canadian solicitors but they don't seem to speed the process up) in the meantime sell our house and rent somewhere local, pay off any debts we have from the proceeds and invest the rest. Save, save, save so we have a nice nest egg should we be lucky enough ever to be accepted.

We are really drawn towards New Brunswick. It seems to have everything we would like and employment prospects seem good (lots of IT companies and a University city). We plan to visit later in the year to see if it's as good a it looks. Would love to hear from anyone who knows a bit about this part of Canada. Plus have been learning French for the last number of years so the fact it's bilingual also appeals.

Sorry to ramble on but it's all very exciting - or are we just mad??
