Hello, Just made decision to go for it.
Hello, We have just decided we want to move on from our country before total anarchy sets in. Just registered on this forum so expect a few questions as we try to navigate through the residency process, thanks in advance for any replies. First question: Is it worth paying for a consultancy company to go through the application? Do they make it easier or quicker? We have the required points and I have written to some Candian employers myself. Is it worth paying out?

Do not rush into the decision to hire a consultant. Here is the BE Wiki article on Immigration Consultants. While you're about it, you may want to read all of the BE Wiki articles about Canadian Immigration and about job hunting in Canada. |

Hi The Burbs,
we are in the process of trying to emigrate and have found out that it can and is a roller coaster of a ride, but the help on here is brilliant. we decided to get some help and employed an emigration consultant. Just having someone there that knows what they are doing, is very reassuring, but must say it's a very individual choice. I think you have to be very careful of the choice you make and take your time in choosing. If there are any questions you need answering, this is the place to get them answered. good luck with your journey, regards, Carl The Gibbo's:thumbup: |

Hello and welcome - be quick - TOTAL ANARCHY sets in in 3 weeks and 2 days time!!!:rofl::rofl:
On a serious note though, do have a good read on here and be sure your wish to leave the UK is right for you all, and that you have a good knowledge of what you are gong to and what are leaving behind, the grass may appear green in other places but that's because there is usually just as much manure. Best of luck with your research. Rob. |

We have had an assessment by a consultant who has told us we have enough points and is trying to organise a meeting in the UK, but unfortunatley we live in the North East and have to go to London or Edinburgh, which is all fair and good if you can get time off work, as the days are Mon - Fri, so we can't make it, but their fees were going to be from £2,000 - £10,000, lot of money eh! So we have decided to go it alone, the forms are completed, the cheques are ready at the bank, so it's all systems go!! We are applying by SW, what about you? Good Luck |
Re: Hello, Just made decision to go for it.
Hi everybody, thanks for your replies. Having completed the form and currently waiting for our bankers draft to arrive we are going to go it alone (the money can be best used elsewhere). We are looking at the GTA as our location due to the fact I work in the motor industry and thats where they all seem to be located (if anybody knows of any related contacts I would be forever grateful). My next question is if I am offered employment on sponsorship while our simplified application is ongoing do we have to re-apply for permanent residency using the regular application?

Depending on what Province you are going to you can do the PNP route which speeds up PR. |
