Health Care Card Question
I moved to BC recently but used to live in Alberta and still work there exactly 50% of the time, I have an Alberta health card from my time living there but as I`m 50% of the time in BC now too do I:
A) Simply use my Alberta health card in both places
B) Get a second BC card - so I have one for each area I am in for half the year
C) Swap my Alberta health card for a BC card which I can use in both places
Thanks!

Re: Health Care Card Question
I know only the following ............
The BC Care Card will only pay for medical treatments in another province (or country) up to the amount that it would cost in BC.
The advice is to take out travel insurance when travelling to other provinces because each province charges different amounts for medical treatment.
You do have to pay a monthly premium for a BC Care Card if you have an annual income larger than a certain amount.
I have no idea whether you can have Care Cards from more than 1 province, hopefully someone else does know!

B) you live in BC now, resident, MSP is mandatory - B.C. Residents - Province of British Columbia.
You cannot AFAIK get both. You have to be resident in Ab to carry on with this. (Plenty of our patients somehow manage to wangle that they continue on their Ab coverage presumably as they own property in both provinces.) The Ab coverage is better for the users, ie cheaper.

C) Correct answer!
It will work in both provinces, in Ab whilst a work, here in BC whilst having fun

Re: Health Care Card Question
Well I was speaking more generally on one province to another, not to mention humorously but even so, what about when the timing of the move suddenly sends one back to yesterday? Can you claim the same date in two different provinces?
