If we all checked baggage there wouldn't be enough room in the hold and even more cases would go missing. I think we all know of someone that has lost baggage. I dont' plan to be one of them.
BTW we go away for 2 months every winter, by airline to San Diego.

landed ok, on check in they didnt weigh our hand luggage, but we had packed most of excess in the suitcases, that cost £260.
The plane wasnt full, so the air hostes did a bit of shuffling about and we ended up with 6 seats for 4, which is brilliant when you consider i am 6'5''. Also, never thought i would say this, but the food was the best i have ever had, i ate the lot!
