Goods to Follow

Quick question (I can't seem to find the answer....) When do I go to customs to clear my goods to follow. Is it on their arrival at the port or once they've cleared customs, or both?
Thanks everso

Thanks, and yes I've seen the wiki, but I'm still unclear at which point I actually need to go to customs? The wiki is saying I need to go when goods arrive, CBSA will check forms and release the goods, but my shipping company have told me that after arrival, it will take 5-7 days to clear customs, and I assume the goods won't be released until CBSA have checked what they need to check, so do I present the stamped goods to follow AS they arrive and then go back?

I have literally just done this. The container was offloaded at Montreal, then took 10 days to be put on a train to Toronto. My shipper then told me to go to CBSA Toronto (warehouse type place at the airport) and present the stamped goods to follow form there. I did that, container released and unloaded at our place in London yesterday.

I see you are located in Kimberley BC so the shipper should be telling you to go to CBSA when the goods arrive at either a warehouse or rail yard which I suspect will be in Cranbrook. The shipper should be telling you when and where to go and providing you with the manifest to take to the CBSA office which I suspect will also be in Cranbrook located at the airport.

Yes, the moving company must send you a one page form to take to CBSA, who will stamp it when you present it, you must then photo / scan the stamped copy and send it to your mover so thwy can get the container released. I will check out the wording on wiki and update it if appropriate when i get a chance
