Dragon boating, yoga, fitness, painting, running, etc. What job ops are you looking for? Try Craigslist for that too |

What's your budget? How far from downtown are you willing to be time wise. Will you have a car or need public transit? Check out Craigslist Vancouver for cheap places.

Oh Craigslist great idea! I would need to get public transport budget I guess as low a possible :) thanks for the ideas !
See what Craigslist throws up for your budget and if you're unsure on areas or commute just ask away. I'm not sure German will be a huge draw for an employer in most companies out here. French or mandarin could be though. |
Re: Glasgow Girl Moving to Vancouver
Are you coming over on a 1 year holiday working visa or some other method? If it's one year it might restrict the sort of office jobs that might be available - maybe temp translation work might be available.

Re: Glasgow Girl Moving to Vancouver
There's a nice little cafe on Commercial Drive called Abruzzo Cafe that always shows football games, whether it be the premier league or other matches in europe. For meeting people there are some good sites like meetup.com. Everything else is covered by craigslist as others have said :)
