Maybe things have changed since 2000. At the time, I was told that Amex UK and Amex Canada were separate businesses, so it couldn't be done.

It's true that a lot of people don't accept Amex; I believe it's to do with the high commission they charge. The good thing about Amex, from my point of view, is the speed with which you can get a new card if yours is lost/stolen. We're looking at hours, not days or weeks.

My Amex platinum (I think? Or silver? who knows) could not be transferred. They will change the address but it is still a £ sterling account. Expensive exchange rate going that way from here.

I only have Amex. I think it works everywhere.

We went to Australia on Amex points which was jolly nice. The downside though is that I pay about about $600 a year for it.

Your admission of several years ago that you are a pimp is starting to make more sense.

You in town early March, BTW?

Less pimping these days, more product sales, the people kept wanting to be treated like, er, humans. Yes, I expect to be here in March, are we going drinking ?

Yes. I'll be in TO 4th to 8th. One of the mornings from 5th to 7th should involve a headache/bail.

Dates noted. I'm sure some suitable arrangement can be hammered out, perhaps even one involving the local Guardinistas.
