Yeah, when I moved here Saskatoon still looked cheap, but thanks to the collapsing pound it now looks expensive. Our house would be about 45% more in pounds than we paid for it.

That is why I moved away from working from Berkshire to SE Kent. I paid £180K for our house in Kent, where you would pay £600K+ close to the M25 for a similar house.

I also earn £18K more than when I worked in Berkshire, you do not get more salary in expensive housing areas.

+100. Sydney is now the third most expensive city in the world, and prices there are way, way higher than in Adelaide, but Adelaide wages are not that much lower.

Similar story in MB.

Prices have gone through the roof since I landed around 6 years ago.

Still would be better off here than I would be back home though not by much anymore.
