Frozen UK pensions

Dear all

Just wanted to let everyone know that you should think about your old UK pension if you worked for an employer for a length of time.

It is possible to get the pension transferred out from the UK to your new homeland as I have myself done it with the help of an advisor and glad that I did.

Sometimes its something that can be forgotten.

Good comments, Hopeful2 !

This is an interesting article on the current state of UK Pension funds and the shortfall that a lot of these funds are going to have over the coming years.

Could be a real problem if you happen to be in any of these pension funds.

As hopeful2 as mentioned, the UK Govt have given people the opportunity to move their UK pension's to the country that they reside in, in our case Canada.

It is something that you should seriously consider looking into, both the pro's and con's of doing this ,as the Government could easily change the rules back at any time, therefore taking this opportunity away from us.
