Free Candian Flights
Hi
Just seen this advert, not sure it its worth it but may be worth a go:
Free America return flight, but its trickier
With this deal it’s possible to get a free return flight to the North America (inc. USA, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean) via American Airlines (AA), but its not quite as straight forward. The Citibank's AAdvantage Visa currently offers 5,000 of its AAdvantage points if you sign up and activate the card. Then if you spend £1,000 on the card before 31 December ’06, it will give you a further 15,000 points.
If your normal spending before December will total over £1,000, then this is worth doing, as provided you pay the card off in full at the end of each month, you won’t pay any interest.
20,000 AAdvantage miles is enough for a USA trip
The number of miles needed for a return flight to North America has been temporarily halved, which means 20,000 is enough, and provided you use the miles before the end of March this is available. You will still have to pay taxes and charges, typically of £60-80 per person.
If you'd like to go away as a couple or with a friend, there’s nothing stopping each person applying for a card so they can fly together.
Avoid the annual fee
This card is also one of the rare ones that still charges an annual fee, in this case £25. Yet it’s waived for the first year, so sign up, grab your free flight, then cancel the card when you get home!
