Re: Formular 1 Racing
I'd check TSN and the Speed Channel.

I have that channel, cheers. I am going to be in for some late nights or very early mornings! Will miss the BBC coverage but not Eddie Jordon.

I prefer the coverage of TSN as (as has been mentioned) they use the British commentators. Speed uses North American commentators with a British guest. I find them very uninformed, a bit like North Americans commentating on the World Cup.
I'm not sure how they're less qualified to talk about the sport than someone like Jake Humphrey, though I agree I prefer the style of presentation and commentary the BBC provide. |

Who is Jake Humphrey? I have never heard of him. Like others have mentioned on other posts (and is evidenced by commercials here poking fun at commentators) I find the whole "Let's exaggerate everthing to a ridiculous degree" commentating next to useless. |

I didn't think that Peter Windsor commentated though. I thought he did the starting grid chat and then interviewed the podium finishers after the race.

Yes, Peter Windsor just presented pre-race stuff and grid interviews, which I think he's pretty good at, and Steve Matchett's pieces on technology etc are reasonably well done. I'd rather have the likes of them present and use their industry experience than someone like Jake Humphrey, though Brundle's a step above them both I think in terms of broadcasting skills (http://www.martinbrundlef1.com/commentator-awards.php)
I have not see Steve Matchett's pieces. I can only recall the three amigos commentating on the racing on Speed. TSN does a fairly good job, although their choice as to when to break for commercials leaves something to be desired - almost as bad as ITV:thumbup: |
Re: Formular 1 Racing
I forgot about the constant ad breaks that I will have to endure, I will be missing the BBC even more.

Re: Formular 1 Racing
i think TSN do alright...
they show everything live, with the british commentary, and they don't have their own crappy commentators... so on all 3 counts that puts them ahead of australian coverage the only thing that sucks is they have no idea how to read a race and when to take ad breaks. but still... coming from the bbc you'll find it a big step down |
