Find a walk in clinic and pay the cash fee and and explain to the doctor she forgot them, and if you have the actual prescription show him/her and see if you can get a script for enough medication for her stay.

This is what I had to do a few years back when I had forgotten my pills in California while visiting before I had PR status.

The visit fee will depend on the clinic, in my town the clinic's cash fee is around 80 dollars.

We moved to New Brunswick from Quebec in 2005. Before we qualified for NB medicare my wife needed to use a walk-in. The fee was $25.

The cash fees will vary widely clinic to clinic, they can charge pretty much anything the market will handle in this type of client, some close to the border will charge even more if they know you came up from the US.

Went to one and if you were Canadian it was 65 but if you from the US it was 140.

That's interesting. I was looking on-line to see if I could get test strips for diabetes any cheaper than the stores here.
It was astonishing the number of US websites where such medical supplies were available for half the price of the stores here - if you lived in the US. But if you gave an address in Canada the price doubled. And that was before the mailing costs.

susie q - go to the Alpen Clinic on Railway Street - Walk-in - think the fee would be about $50 - sure they can sort you out ....

If the company allow it, you can set up a PO Box in the US and have them delivered there, then they forward to you, alot cheaper on postage as well.
We did this when we was in the uk with kids stuff and saved loads on postage, not sure if the drug company will ship to a PO Box, but worth looking into.....

Not sure about all but I certainly saw some where they wouldn't do it.

I have to wonder if it's some legal thing*. I also noticed that Amazon USA had the test strips for half price, while Amazon Canada didn't do them. There's normally no problem for ordering from Amazon.com but these items were not deliverable across the border.

*Perhaps it's a drug company thing. Maybe they know they can get away with the rip off price here but not if people can get them down south for less.:frown:

While items are shown on Amazon.com, many are just companies piggybacking on their website and are not prepared/setup/ship internationally. In the past I have phoned the company direct and ordered.

Walk in should be OK, but this happened to me once when I was in Vancouver on a business trip and forgot to bring a medication. I went into a pharmacy and explained what had happened, showed receipt (not a prescription) and was sold what I needed.

This may be a Vancouver thing.;)
