Default Foreigner (not PR) buy house in Canada

I wonder if this is possible?
If not, how about buying together with a Canadian citizen or PR (family member) ?

This is for one who wants to emmigrate to Canada in the future but is afraid of soaring property price as well as stronger and stronger Canadian dollars...

Thanks.

Its not a problem, been done many times, and there are several threads covering this , one just a week or so ago.

Dont know if this search link will work?

Whether its wise to buy before you have a chance to experience living in a particular area is another question. Real estate commisions in excess of 5% make selling a place you decide you dont like after all a painfull proposition.

Yes, no problems at all. It is important to bear in mind that as an alien you will have to pay 7% GST (tax) on the sale price if you sell whilst you are still an alien (Ontario). Realtor's fees are already included in property prices.

Thank you guys, really helpful...
So, what about co-buyer, one is PR, one is alien? How 7% GST apply in this case? I know this sounds complicated.
