Footy in Edmonton

Hello everybody,

Me & my missus are moving to the Edmonton area very soon (17th of July) and I was just wandering if there are any decent football facilities, and if anybody runs a team do you need any more players. I'm 33, can't run very fast, bald & overweight, but i'm not a bad player, honest! I notice there a few people on here from Lancashire (from previous thread), we are moving from Rishton (near Blackburn).

Thanks, Mark

Yeah there's a few expats on here that are in a team. I've been invited to train a couple of times but for various reasons havent been able to make it. Seem like a decent bunch of lads though.... even though one is a Liverpool fan.

No doubt they'll be along shortly to recruit you....
Good luck with the move!

Ha Ha, Thanks Jericho. I too am a Liverpool fan, I am from Liverpool before you give me any greif! lol. I moved to Blackburn about 9 years ago, so I have lost my twang a bit. I see you are in Sherwood park, we looked at that area and looks very nice, however, we wanted somewhere a bit closer to the international airport as I will be starting work there in August.
Thanks for reply.
Mark

Ha ha, I would do mate but we've already been told not to bother with any food. We were going to bring a full suitcase of Tetley tea bags but the spoilsport from the removal company said we wer'nt allowed. Doh!

We can still have that bevvy though!

I'll have to ask him again about the tea bags. As for the pies, I've been in that factory and you wouldn't want one after seeing the manufacturing process.
But they are nice though!

We love Edmonton no regrets at all, we are taking it all as an experience and opportunity during this part of our lives. Would we retire here, no too cold for old bones.

We are in the West end of Edmonton. I take it you will be looking into moving to Leduc.

Yes, either Leduc or Devon. We've been to both and i'm not that fussed. The missus prefers Devon, but we'll have to see what's available to rent when we get there.
