Default food and immigration

Sorry this may seem a silly thread but.......... we leave for Vancouver on Thursday and my Son has just had his 16th birthday. Consequently even though everyone knew we were leaving he has loads of chocolates, thorntons etc. Though I'm a big chocolate fan even I can't eat all this in time!
Question is, can we take the unopened boxes in our luggage?
Appreciate any help don't want all the good stuff to be wasted,
Terese

Just PM me and I'll give u my address where you can send them all to

On a serious note I'm sure people always bring chocolates back and forth... if it were meat I think you'd have problems....

Basically they're worried about food that could carry infectious diseases or parasites to Canada; so processed stuff like chocolate or tea bags and the like should be fine, but meat or fresh fruit, vegetables, etc would be a problem.
