Default Flying on Thursday - Very Excited!!!

Hi everyone

We are flying into Toronto on Thursday for our Recce/Holiday/Honeymoon/Job Interviews and we cannot wait!!!

Apart from having a good look around and Keith has his interviews to attend, we are planning on doing the full tourist bit!!

Apart from the usual site seeing (CN Tower, Rogers Centre, Niagra etc) has anyone got any suggestions for good things to visit with kids??

There's loads to see, my personal favourite is The Distillery District, although that's more for grown-ups?

If you are going to Niagara also go to Lock #2 on The Welland Canal. It's first right after you cross the Skyway Bridge over the canal at St Catharines. Just follow the blue signs. It's huge. The drop is 80 feet I believe and it's quite a sight to see the big ocean going and laker vessels going through. There is a little movie theater showing the history and construction of the canal. Well worth a visit, especially with children of all ages, and it's free.

Hello

If you're going to Niagara, try and make time for Niagara-on-the-Lake. It's not everyone's cup of tea, I know, but it's really pretty and there are some nice shops. I wouldn't make a special trip there, but if you're going to the Falls then it's worth a look, even just for an ice-cream and swing park stop for the kids (depending on how old they are of course!).

If you're into outdoor stuff, try one of the local big parks, something like Bronte Creek Provincial Park. Costs you $15 to get in and park, but take a picnic and you've got loads of outdoor space for the kids to work off some energy.

Also Toronto Zoo is one of the best. And if you're going to do loads of the tourist sites then you might want to invest in a City Pass, which gives you discounted admission if you're visiting all the sites in a short space of time. Depends on your plans of course. http://www.citypass.com/toronto

Finally for my two-penn'orth, if you're driving around and going in and out of Toronto, and you've got plenty of time, try ditching the highways and tootling along Lakeshore - it's obviously not as fast but it's a much nicer journey and you get to see so much more!

HTH and good luck

If you're into the outdoors then I'd recommend Paris, Ontario it's just 1.5 hours outside of TO and has excellent fishing, canoing and hiking trails.

Oh Great..

Ferry over to the Island off Toronto ( by the Westin hotel ) .. kids will love the parks Take a picnic!

Personally my kids age 6 and 2 were fed up of Niagara falls after 30 mins!! so dont stay too long. It also very crowded which is not nice.. maid of the mist is good too

We were there last summer and it was great..

Good luck with everything.

Hi, and good luck, we just returned but had a great time with our 4 kids, you must take them too the Ontario Science Museum (a full day out and I believe theres a Harry Potter exhibition at the moment) , High Park (free), Casa Loma, Toronto Zoo and Fort York (for a bit of history) oh and if you get time take them to Woodbine beach

Have fun.

Canada's Wonderland!!!! - the kids love it - re-opens next week... Take a picnic as it gets expensive to eat in the park. There is a picnic area just outside and you can come and go. The only think you are allowed to take in is water......
