First Trip to Canada

Almost sold the house and looking for somewhere to rent, planning the first trip over to Canada. Hopefully all going well we'd like to move over to the British Columbia region!

As we are now planning to do a 2 week tour, does anyone have any suggestions that I could take on board as I want to make this trip as useful as possible. i.e. is there certain thing / places I should Go / Do etc. as Canada is not exactly the cheapest place to get too on a regular occurrence all advice would be gratefully received.

As of yet don't exactly know (hence the trip out there) our initial thoughts was Vancouver this is why I thought I'd ask for information so that I could fine tune the trip over there, I just don't want to waste time going to areas that aren't so great if you know what I mean.

If Iqualuit was in BC then someone would have directed you there by now.

Thats a cryptic way of saying that you need to give waaaay more info about what you are looking for in life to get any usefull replies back , we dont know the first thing about you or your interests, employment prospects, likely budget etc etc, you know, the usefull stuff that might help people in that region direct you to places of interest to you:)

Saying Vancouver is a bit like saying "London", I guess you want to know which bits = Notting Hill, and which bits = Tower Hamlets.

Well there could be the following assumptions such as a fondness for

1) B.C. Bud

2) Mountains

3) Grey skies and rain (at least on the coast)

Hi Chris,

I moved from London last year to Vancouver and used a relocation company called Moving to Vancouver (www.movingtovancouver.ca). I found them very useful, its a husband and wife outfit, Stuart is originally from London and his wife Ashleigh is from Vancouver so they have lots of knowledge of Vancouver and about relocating.

I contacted them and they set-up a phone meeting and called me and asked me what I was looking for and had a whole bunch of other information that I did not even known I needed to know.

All in all I'm very glad I used them, very reasonably priced as you only pay for what you need and in my mind worth every penny, still keep in contact with them and even now will help out with anything.

The only thing Stuart and Ashleigh do not do is find a property to purchase or help you find a job but they have trusted professionals they referred me to that were great.
