Not sure of the correlation between the two?

'Because the facility stores goods that need to be inspected by Canada Border Services Agency officials, flames spread quickly.'

erm......possibly us. Oddly enough, we were in the CBSA office at Britannia Rd E clearing our personal effects when the fire started. Seen the smoke at the other side of the airport when we came out of their offices.

So...... does anyone know if all imported personal effects are stored in a CBSA warehouse until cleared, or is it possible that the moving firm at this end already has them in a bonded warehouse? (In this case, AMJ Campbell?)

Did you try calling AMJ Campbell? I'm sure they must have had a few enquiries about this already.

I feel like $1mil worth of damage implies that there can't have been that much goods in the warehouse...

By the time we realised where the fire was it was late on the weekend so didn't call. I must not be too fussed because today I just assumed they'd call if there was a problem Besides, my stuff would be a tiny insignificant fraction of the $1M value.

I'm fairly sure from earlier conversations that they say they contact you once they have the stuff in their warehouse. Had really just been wondering if anyone had been through the process with them recently.

I'm sure it will all be fine
