Fingerprints

We are in the final stages of the process but as my partner had lived in Canada before he has been asked to supply fingerprints, has anyone else had to do this and did you use a special form or did you use the form provided by the UK Police station?

This has caused a few hold-ups and problems already so any urgent help appreciated.

Thanks

Re: Fingerprints

Hi there. We had exactly the same as my husband worked in Canada before. He just went into the local police station and they advised him where to go to have the fingerprints done - I think each police force has a unit responsible for doing these. He had to make an appointment to go and have them done. Luckily the timeline wasn't too bad.

We live in Reading and the Thames Valley Police Fingerprint unit was based somewhere near Oxford, so not really that handy. My husband works in Surrey, and the Surrey Police unit was in Guildford, near where he works, so he just went there. Probably need to check if this is OK though. Had to pay something like £65 for it!!!

Hope this helps

Frances

Just make sure you uncross them when you have the prints done, or you'll really cock up their system :p

Even though I have a criminal record I had to have mine done again. Cost me and the Mrs £20 each and had to wait a month.
