I bank at ScotiaBank and they allow me to login with just my banking card and password, but only on computers that I have registered with them. It is not as good as the HSBC thingy but at least it has a key element of dual authentication i.e. something you know and something you have.

Yes. I don't like it much. I don't have an HSBC UK account I have one with FD which belongs to HSBC but is different.
