Finally out the door!

Courier arrived about half an hour ago to pick up our PNP application  I guess that's it....the wait is on! I'll be very annoyed if there's anything missing because I think I've checked that application package practically every night for 2 weeks! What am I to do in the evenings now?!

I'm hoping, since most people seem to be getting an answer 8-12 weeks after they've sent their application off, we won't start getting jittery at least until 6 weeks into the wait :fingerscrossed: Otheriwse, it's going to be a long few months

Don't even have that luxury I'm afraid because we were required to include copies of the CIC forms with our PN forms so they've already been filled out. We also already have the supporting documents required as they are the same as what's required for PN...we do have to get them notarised for CIC though but I don't really fancy paying the money out until we know we have been nominated. I'm just going to have to re-kindle my love for gardening ;)

I got my stuff notarised in NS for free.

Where are you applying to go to? We are going to Saskatchewan and applied throught their provincial nomination program so had to put all our PR and supporting documents too.
We're on about 5 weeks now :fingerscrossed:I'm working on the basis of no news is good news....

Re: Finally out the door!

The best quote I got when I phoned around was £45 for notarising 3 documents and then £20 per extra document after that  He also told me I can't have photocopies of birth/marriage certificates as certified copies should be obtained from the registry office. That does sort of put us in a sticky situation with our marriage certificate and OH's birth certificate because he was born in Italy and we were also married there and only have one original of each  That means to obtain copies we have to contact the council office in Rome. I had no idea how to go about it but a really nice person in the BE Italy forum was able to point me in the right direction. I suppose I could get onto that now to keep myself busy but to be honest I'm not looking forward to having to deal with it  Plus we're thinking it may be easier just to make a trip to Rome and pick them up whilst we're there. OH has family out there and we could stay with them :)

We've applied to Nova Scotia. I would imagine it won't be too long now before you hear something back - only a matter of weeks! Good luck! :fingerscrossed:

Best of luck to you guy's too,it's such a strange emotional time. Sometimes it's ok to be waiting and other times you want to stamp your foot like a 4 yr old and demand to know whats going on

Thank you :) Yeah, I must admit, I'm interested to see how this is going to affect me mentally....let's just say I don't do patience  Hubby on the other hand is cool as a cucumber when it comes to things like this. His philosopy in life is no amount of worrying is going to change the outcome so why bother getting in a fluster in the first place? Keep us posted on how you get on and just think, this time a few weeks down the line you'll be past the first hurdle

Re: Finally out the door!

congrats!

i dunno how long the review and approval process for PNP applications is.... and i hear that many visa processes have been speeded up in recent years....

but the CIC took about 3 years to ponder my stuff. hell they took over a year to just confirm receipt of my forms!

for this reason, as soon as your package is off, i suggest you forget all about it!

enjoy the passage of time!

It seems that I do have something else to keep me busy after all - at least for today.....track our package  It just reached Philadelphia. Exciting stuff

We applied to Nova Scotia too, using the CI stream, we found them very helpful and approachable, we had a few things returned, but sorted it out in the end, approval took about 2 months in our case. Good luck:thumbup:
