Finally Canadian!!!!
 

At last the day has arrived!

We have Citizenship Court this afternoon. My whole family is so happy and this feels like the end of a very long journey!

We arrived bright eyed and bushy tailed back in September 2005 and looking back now, oh we were so naive!

A lot of ups and downs have happened in the last 7 years but we survived everything that was thrown at us and have built an amazing life here in Canada. The little girls I brought from Manchester are now young Canadian women who make me proud everyday. They think of themselves as Canadian already, so today just makes it official!

My OH works ten times harder than he did in the UK, and I didn't think that was possible but despite that we love our life here.

For everyone setting out on the beginning of your journey to a new life here in Canada - yes it can be tough, home sickness is a killer but if you take each day as it comes, from our experience, it gets better and looking back, I never regret a minute, good and bad!

Later today I will be so proud to say I am a Canadian!!!!

Congratulations! Felt quite surreal for me. Sometimes I have to think to myself, WOW I am Canadian and British. Enjoy your special day :thumbsup:
