A few tips needed on pub/bar work in Toronto area

Hi all

I'm new to this forum and would like some help/tips please.

My wife and I are in the process of researching emigrating to Canada as my wife is eligible for a Federal Workers visa. Personally I work as a pub manager and in the first instance will be looking for something similar in Canada.

I am just wondering whether I would need to obtain any kind of qualifications, courses etc in order to be able to work behind a bar in Canada and whether it would be possible to complete them over here online prior to emigration.

If it has any bearing I will be looking for work in the Burlington, Milton area as we have ties to the area through friends and old family friends of my wife who lived in that part of Canada as a child.

As I say I would appreciate any help anyone could provide.

Welcome to BE andy.

Can you elaborate on why you think your wife is eligible for an FSW visa? This will help people to help you.

Thanks for the reply. My wife qualifies for an FSW as she works in marketing and that is on the required list. Hope this helps

You can take your smartserve online, it isn't difficult.

I would suggest looking at "The Keg" for management positions.

:)
