Question family sponsorship

I will be in Canada in the New Year! Query: Will it be possible for me to sponsor my mother via family class, whilst she is visiting me? Does this procedure necessarily have to happen whilst she is in the UK and I am in Canada? Are there any alternatives? Is it likely to take very long? Am i running before i can walk?
Thank you for any assistance.

You would have to show sufficient earnings from Canadian sources to qualify to sponor
your mother. If you are living abroad and not employed in Canada then it will not be
possible to sponsor her. Jim Humphries

i think he means can he file an inland application to sponsor his mother when she
visits him in Canada (providing he met LICO when she visited) or is teh only way to
sponsor his mother while she is in the UK, not him. i think if i recall correctly he
could only do it inland if there were sufficient H&C grounds like she was too old or
unwell to travel home, or had absolutley no family in the UK to return to etc.

You indicate that you will be in Canada in the new year, that seems to imply that you
will be landed at that time and your mother will be visiting. You have two problems
1. you have to meet LICO the income standard in order to sponsor a relataive. This is
income earned in Canada and within the previous 12 months; 2 you would have to
satisfy the immigration officials in Vegreville that there are overriding
Humanaitarian and Compassionate considerations that warrant her being processed from
within Canada and not from her country of residence. Ron Beirnes
