Dear all
Although I am a newcommer to this group I understand that there are normally only specific family members who may be sponsored, ie, children under 19, parents, grandparents, etc.. My question is, what or who counts as an 'other family member'? Some web based and other, possibly now out of date information mentions 'other family member' in the Family Sponsored Class, where a family member in Canada has sponsored a relative but is entitled to sponsor one more. My mother is keen to join her sister in Canada but for various reasons (mainly occupation and age - over 49) we think applying as a Skilled Independant Worker may not be the best practical method. Any thoughts....? |
In relation to your aunt, your mother is not a member of the family class. Jim

Would popularity/unpopularity of landing destination also be a factor to ruin/improve a prospective applicants chances. There does seem, from what I have read on this group and other sources, to be a significant lottery element to the selection process. |
